Bernard Holston, Sr. is a native of Athens, Georgia. He has over 50 years of experience in the funeral service industry. He is a 1984 graduate of Fort Valley State College with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service in 1987 from John Tyler Community College, Chester, Virginia.

Bernard received his Funeral Service License in 1987 in the State of Virginia and has been licensed in the State of Georgia since 1988. He also is a licensed Life Insurance Agent concentrating in Burial and preplanning programs.

Chedonna Michelle Trimble-Holston is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and is the co-owner of Bernard’s Family Funeral Care. She graduated from Southwest Dekalb High school, Decatur, Georgia, Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service, Atlanta, Georgia and Georgia Perimeter College (now Georgia State University). She has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since 1987. In addition, Chedonna is the CEO of Donald Trimble Mortuary, Decatur, Georgia. She is the wife of H. Bernard Holston, Sr. and the proud mother of Brenan Mickell Holston and Brelan Chenard Holston. Chedonna enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and two sons.

A.J. is a proud Morgan County native and a 2017 graduate of Morgan County High School. Inspired by a passion for serving others, he pursued a career in funeral service and graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2023. Dedicated to personal and professional growth, he plans to continue his education by earning a degree in Business Administration. A.J. is a devoted member of Holland Springs Baptist Church in Madison, Georgia, and faithfully serves as the Pastor of St. Phillip Community Church in Reynolds, Georgia. He is also the owner and operator of A.J. Removal Service, where he provides dependable and compassionate removal and transportation services throughout the community. His commitment to excellence, strong work ethic, and servant’s heart have been evident throughout every stage of his career. Combined with his diverse professional experience and dedication to helping families, A.J. is a trusted and valued member of our team of funeral service professionals.

Brelan Holston is the youngest son of Co-Owners Bernard and Chedonna Holston. Brelan was raised in Conyers, GA, and graduated from George Walton Academy in Monroe, GA, Fort Valley State University (Magna Cum Laude), and John A. Gupton College (Summa Cum Laude) Currently, at Bernard’s Family Funeral Care, Brelan holds the position as the Pre-need specialist, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Brelan has a passion for assisting families through the financial burdens and stress that comes with death, whether it is pre-planning for funeral services or at-need services.

Tenisha Cole is a Licensed Funeral Director and Life Insurance agent at Bernard’s Family Funeral Care. She is a native of Athens, Georgia, and the mother of three son’s Bryce, Jordan and Jackson. Tenisha’s currently a certified firefighter at South Jackson Volunteer Fire Department. She is a former Program Specialist for Athens Clarke-County Unified Government, where she was an Artistic Director and taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Praise and Modern Dance to children and adults. She’s passionate about serving families because honoring every life with creativity and dignity highlights the soul print individuals left behind .

My name is Shantaa Harrison and I am a 45-year-old mother of 2 beautiful daughters, my greatest passion in life is serving others. My desire to serve comes from a deep belief that kindness, compassion, and empathy can change lives. I strive to be light wherever I go, sharing my amazing smile with everyone I meet. Having spent over 15 years in healthcare field , I’ve learned how powerful it is to serve others with patience, empathy, and professionalism. Outside of work and caring for others, I enjoy quality time with my family and exploring new destinations.

Delane Anderson Sr. values his work with Bernard Funeral Home because of the deep involvement he has with the company’s mission and daily operations. He appreciates being part of an organization where his contributions make a meaningful impact, and he takes pride in supporting families during important moments. Beyond his direct role, Delane also focuses on areas such as community engagement, teamwork, and maintaining the high standards that Bernard Funeral Home is known for. Family is also central to Delane’s life. He is the proud father of two children, Robin and DJ, and the loving grandfather of Davion and Karmel.

His devotion to his family mirrors the care and dedication he brings to his work, making his role at Bernard Funeral Home not just a profession, but a heartfelt calling.

After completing his apprenticeship under the tutelage of H. Bernard Holston, Sr. at Bernard’s Family Funeral Care, LaMonde continued serving there as a licensed Funeral Director until relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to exceptional family care, professionalism, leadership, and integrity.

LaMonde is happily married to his college sweetheart, Kayla, and they are proud parents of their daughter, Lauren Rose. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, music, horseback riding, and golf.
